What type of television should i get? Is a plasma television really worth it? I want to spend up to 2000 dollars and need to put something in my bedroom. I want something moderately sized (30 - 40 inches). what is a good television to get? Also, as a bonus could someone explain to me the difference between plasma and regular flat screens?

Will a plasma television last longer in a cooler environment? I recently boughta plasma TV. I live at a fairly high elevation (8500ft) and I'm told that plasmas hum, and dont last very long at this hieght. This is becuase the decrese in air pressure makes the gas in the television more pressurized, which makes it hotter. his means that the cooling system has to work much harder (thus the hum) and therefore it wont last nearly as long. However, I keep my house pretty cold, around 56F. The the cooler environment help to compensate for the decrease in air pressure?

Plasma television doesnt work? We just bought a hitachi ultravision 42 inch plasma televison in September. We've been redoing the house so we didnt take it out of the box until today. We can't get the television to turn on. It is mounted to the wall, but will not turn on. We've tried different plugs, right now its plugged into an old surge protector. A couple of other things are also plugged into the surge. Any suggestions? thanks! I'm not sure what you mean, my dad said he doesn't remember. (I'm the most technical in the family) It is still on one year warranty though, if thats what you mean.

Can soot from a furnace damage my Flat screen HD Plasma Television? My furnace needed to be cleaned, and my landlord tried cleaning it himself, instead of hiring professionals. He stuck a vacuem hose up in the furnace, and all the soot went in, and blew out the back of the vacuem, for he didnt have a filter on it. It primarily landed all in the kitchen, but I'm finding it throughout the apartment. Everything I touch leaves black on my hands. My 42 in Dell HD Plasma television is now acting funny. You are not even to clean the screen with windex. Soot turns greasy upon trying to clean. My landlord feels no remorse or obligation to fix it either. I am going to take him to court, but I want to know what I am talking about before I go in.

How can i replace the gas in my plasma television? (knowone seems to know?)? My plasma tv is starting to fade ever so slowly and i need to replace the gas, can anyone tell me how? Ive just been told that you cant replace gas in plasma panels as they are sealed & you have to place 3 different types of gas in each single pixel of a plasma screen, so the next time a sales person tells you that you can replace the gas in a screen ask him how he intends to do it.....? Does anyone know about the Vizio plasma television? My Vizio tv just went out. The green onlight is on, but there is no picture. I have had the tv for 2 years. Go figure, it has a 1 year warranty. I am wondering if it is repairable? I also have a 19 month old that loves to punch buttons. I don't know if he hit something, or if the tv needs to go to the repair shop. Concern over a line on the edge of my Plasma screen television? I recently purchased a plasma screen TV. I have it hooked up with Cogeco Digital Cable (HD), and a surround sound system. When watching DVDs that don't fill the screen, or some channels with Digital Cable, there is a line either on the top or right of the screen (where the picture ends). It's distracting when watching a movie, and I'm curious if there's a way to fix this. The line is pink or white, and is part of the actual picture, it is dashed (- - - - - - -) and extends across the entire picture.

Any reason to be concerned about burn-in using a Playstation 3 with a plasma television? I have a three-and-a-half year-old Panasonic TH50PHD7UY commercial plasma television and am wondering if I need to be concerned about burn in from a Sony Playstation 3. I want to purchase a Blu-Ray player and thought the PS3 would be great in that I could also play HD games with it. I have no qualms about watching a 4:3 television program or letterboxed movie for hours, or watching CNN for hours with the delegate totals on the edge even during commercials. As such, would an icon on a PS3 (i.e., score tracker) left on for hours be any different? Thanks!
