Is there really a difference in view between plasma television and regular television?

  1. Absolutely there are differences! First, plasma TVs nowadays all have a "High Definition" component built into them. You can tell at any electronics store...just look at a regular TV and then look at a plasma and the difference will just be amazing...sharper, clearer, and so defined that you can see individual blades of grass on a football field (you usually can't on regular TVs). This is only for HD channels, though. On some plasma models, there will be little to no difference, and on a few, the standard channels might even look fuzzier than on a regular TV. But on the new models, this is much less of a problem. Second, because plasma TVs are built to "wide screen" as opposed to the "full screen" format of regular TVs, you can watch DVD movies as they were originally shown in theaters without having the sides cropped off, and without those "black stripes" above. Also, plasma TVs are much easier to view from an angle than many conventional televisions.
  2. It really depends on the source. If your watching just regular TV, not HD then stick with a regular TV. But it is a night and day difference between HDTV when you're watching a good HDTV source that is properly installed and regular tv.
