  1. 2 different technologies.....Plasma will give you better black levels, sharper colors. LCD works better for bright rooms. Pioneer Elite makes the best Plasma 42 on the market, go check it out, its quite stunning.
  2. I have a plasma TV but I don't have a LCD TV. I noticed that colors are really vibrant and bright on plasma tv. But I hear that that goes away after a year of use. Also, plasma uses up more electricity and gets really hot. My 50" uses up 502 watts.
  3. 1.LCD TVs are considerably lighter and as such easier to mount and install. Plasma TVs will almost certainly require a professional installer. 2.LCD TVs are lighter and far less fragile than plasma displays making shipping easier. 3.Although prices for both technologies have dropped significantly over the years, plasma TVs are still significantly cheaper for sizes over 32 inches. 4.LCD TVs use on average half of the power from Plasma TVs. 5.LCD TVs run about twice as long as plasma TVs. 6.Usually plasma screens have better contrast. Both have excellent quality and sharpness.LCD usually has a slightly clearer picture in smaller models and a higher resolution. hope this has helped u :)
  4. price IS an issue
  5. The difference is a LCD wont break upon impact with your Wii Controller as easly I think... JK lol. Wait a couple years and you can get OLD Tv screen monitors lol... If you get this pun your a genius.
  6. the biggest difference I've noticed is that the Plasma is glossy so it reflects every color. The next time you're in a store looking at them, take a look at a Plasma and look close, you'll see all of the lights in the store reflecting off of it. My suggestion is that if the tv is going in a room with skylights or many windows, get LCD, if not and you don't mind spending the money, you might want a plasma. Really there isn't much difference in picture quality, you can get both at 1080i and both in the same size. The plasma is just a bit more sharp, and tends to show whiter whites.
  7. About 100 to 150 more WATTS for Plasma....they are power hungry... Other than that, there really is no difference in picture quality....
  8. In which city are you in?
  9. Anybody with small kids is foolish to buy LCds. The screens are very fragile PLASTIC. When broken no warranty , no repair. Plasma is glass, Cost about 1-2 cents/ hour more to operate.
