How do I mount a plasma television and hide the wires?

I am looking to mount a 42 inch plasma with hiding most of the wires. I need some tips, suggestions and help. Or should I even waste my time.

  1. You can run them through the wall. It's not that difficult, if you need help, find someone that knows how to do it. You will need a small hole behind the TV where the wires need to come out to plug in the TV, you will have to "fish" the wires through the wall from the bottom (where you will need a small hole also). The small holes can be covered with wall plates like the ones you use for the switch or socket plates, however they are solid except for one single hole for the wire. It's not hard and somebody knows how to do this if you don't. Good Luck !
  2. Wall anchors can be found @ Best Buy, and to hide wires, go to Home Depot and buy self adhesive wire channels (avail in many colors) and route wires thru them. Or, alternately you could wall drop the wiring.. Hope this helps.
  3. you could run it through a wall or just paint the wires.
  4. If your not comfortable doing it yourself. Find a satellite installer to do it on the side. Most of them will do side work if they are not busy. They will charge you, but they have the tools and knowledge. Compare buying the mounting bracket, wire, connectors, wall plates, etc.. with the price an installer would charge you for the same stuff + installation. They get very good prices on installation supplies.
