Modern TVs

I own a 45" Philips plasma television. The menu pops up sporatically and stays on until I hit the menu button.?

I was told by Philips staff I need to download the latest software update from their web-site. I download onto the USB Flash drive, but when I insert it into the television it is only looking for pictures or Music. It will not recognize the new software on the flashdrive. The guy at Philips mentioned that this needs to be done using an older style flashdrive, where can I get this older style flashdrive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I think you NEED to get out your instruction manual, because there should be a SERVICE USB and you're sticking it in the Picture USB port. Your instructions should show you how to upload new software into your TV set, and actually you NEED to access the menu, go into the Setup/diagnostics page, access the software info then hit UPGRADE to do this anyways.... You NEED your instruction booklet to help you navigate this.... I NEED the instructions, so I KNOW you NEED the instructions too ! Personally, I think your menu button on the TV set is all sticky....I'd use alcohol to clean it, or I'd remove whatever is pushing up against it...
