Modern TVs

How do I hook up an old early 80's style Atari with a modern TV?

This is the 2400 model. I tried. The plug seems to fit but no games. Just a blank blue screen. Is my only option getting an old TV at flea market? Oh thats the really old kind. No this had cables which did fit into the TV where the VCR and DVD go. TVs now are cable ready. I guess I am going to have to go back the flea market and get an old TV. I will set it up next to the dryer.

  1. Did it have the little box on the end of the cord that had two wires coming out of it? And you had a little switch to move from TV to GAME. I remember we had a little connector that had two screws on the bottom where the two wires fit, and the top part of the connector was like the end of a cable and would plug into the tv. I have a couple laying around the house in drawers now. Surely they still sell them in walmart or radio shack or similar place. about an inch and a half long, inch wide, black.
