Modern TVs

Are there modern console TVs?

I was wondering if anyone knows if there some good online stores that make modern tv's that look like the old wooden looking console tvs?

1. Not that I know of. My grandma's tv went out so we took the old tv out of it and found a tv that fit inside the hole. It fit perfect and looks like the original. Much better picture though. Might want to check some garage sales or goodwill or a thrift store. At least that way you can pick a tv from your favorite manufacturer and refinish the wood in the finish of your choice.
2. No, but a GOOD cabinet maker can build a good looking TV cabinet!! I've seen a couple..... But first.....Try your best to find a Plastic cabinet that has a Flat frame touching the Picture Tube......It really helps to Incorporate PART of the plastic cabinet into it for mounting the CRT.... And if you can, make sure the TAG for the model number is transferred or copied to the chassis!! Anticipate a little challenge with the mounting bolts on any flat screen TVs that are 30 inch or larger....especially any ones in the 35 - 40 inch category.....those will need some steel or serious Wood to support the picture tube....and remember, Picture tubes can be magnetized by steel/magnets too close to the tube.... So.....you're in a Quandary there.......or is it Quandry?
