- depends on what your definition of "better"is, probley the obivous answer is modern day tvs,but maybe not for old people.
- if u care about the quality lcd hands down but if u just want a tv at a cheap price than a traditional
- I have both a traditional CRT (HDTV) and an LCD TV (HDTV). Both have good picture quality and so will a plasma television. Of them all the CRT has the best refresh rate (so no ghosting) best viewing angle (so people on the sides can see it well), and the brightest picture. However it uses a huge amount of electricity, weighs about 150lb/70kg, and takes up a huge amount of space. Current LCD and Plasma TV's are way better than the older ones and have good refresh rates / viewing angles. Their biggest advantage is that they take up so much less space and less energy too. If you are looking at a standard definition CRT stay away, it will be less and less useful in the coming years. If you get a great deal on an HDTV CRT and have space / electricity for it it could be a bargain. I would look at a good LCD myself though.
