3D Design Programs?

I'm looking for a program that will let me design things such as computer tables and television units before I mess it up building it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1. You can try gmax, 3ds max, autocad, etc :P
2. sketch up is free on net autocad (expensive) 3 D studio Mac(expensive) solidworks(expensive) depends how much you want to spend or can you not borrow a mate cd go pc world loads out there do a google check
3. My son will be going to the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago to get a degree in Video and graphics designing, one of the programs they use is called 3ds Max, but it sells for around $3,500.00. You can get a program called AC3D for $79.00 that is very good. Merry Xmas
4. If you think you need a budget one or for personal use only you can use Google Sketch.But if you want a more complete 3D tool or it for company i recommended you use autoCad for more advance user.
5. Sketch Up is free to download from Google. However, make sure yo go through all of the basic tutorials first, as this program can be very confusing and frustrating at times. Some of my students have suggested that Cinema 4D is easier to use than it!
